CANCELLED : Ohio Barns In-Person
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED - THE PRESENTER HAS CANCELLED HIS VISIT. The West Salem Historical Society, in conjunction with the library, will be hosting Robert Kroeger to talk about historic barns. He'll be telling fascinating stories about barns in Ohio and in other states (like the one in the photo, the historic barn at Wayne County's own Blue Barn Winery ... with its tale of Johnny Appleseed). He will also have his books available for purchase, and do book signings, which will raise funds for the historical society.
His books: HISTORIC BARNS OF OHIO, which lists the paintings and essays of barns in all 88 Ohio counties (released by The History Press, March, 2021). My second book on old barns, ROUND BARNS OF AMERICA, will also be available. This book features 75 round barns in 32 states - from the east coast to the west coast - along with their paintings and stories. There are 11 Ohio round barns in the book (published by Acclaim Press in late 2022). Both books went through their first printing within a year of publication.
