  • You must be 18 years or older to check out items from the Library of Things.
  • Library card number with PIN required to reserve an item. Reservations are not transferable and must be picked up by the person who placed the request. To check out item, bring your valid, non-expired ID as well as the Library card used for the reservation.
  • Items can be picked up or returned at any WCPL location. Items must be returned to the Circulation Desk and NOT in the book drop. Items must be returned with all parts and components in the same CLEAN condition as issued, except for normal wear.
  • Reservations must be made days in advance of start date. Submission of a request does not guarantee availability. You will initially be notified by email when booking is approved and then by phone when the item arrives at the library with a date by which the item must be picked up.
  • Items will be held for 2 days into your reservation although the original 2-week reservation period will remain the same. You will receive an emailed reminder regarding pickup. The item will be returned on the 3rd day.
  • Approved reservations do not guarantee availability of items. While the library will do everything to honor requests as approved, if an item is returned late or not at all, your reservation will be cancelled and you will be notified via email.
  • LOT items check out for 2 weeks. Activity passes check out for 1 week. No renewals.
  • Library staff cannot give instructions on use of an item. See user manuals.

  • Borrowers must read, understand, and sign the Agreement and Liability Waiver before they check out LOT items. Copies will be available to sign at the checkout desk.
  • The responsibility to protect against loss is the borrower’s. The borrower is solely responsible for equipment and will be billed for repair or replacement costs associated with damage or loss of items and/or peripherals due to neglect or abuse.
